SedonaOffice Hosts Fifth Annual Users Conference
SedonaOffice hosted its fifth annual user's conference to a record number of attendees combining education, networking and fun as well as the introduction of version 5.0 of SedonaOffice, the company's accounting and business management software.
The 2007 Users Conference was held on Marco Island, Florida from January 24-26, 2007, with 135 attendees, setting a new record of attendance from the previous year's 103.
Throughout the conference, the company showcased the new 5.0 version and its enhanced benefits for security companies. In addition to the new version, SedonaOffice also unveiled its new logo during the conference.
"The conventions just keep getting better every year as a meeting place for new information and an exchange of ideas", said Michael Marks, co-founder of SedonaOffice. "Not only were we able to inform our users of new advancements we've made with SedonaOffice, but we were able to engage them in open forums throughout the conference to completely cover these improvements and provide in-depth training."
Spanning three days, this year's conference was highlighted by a special keynote presentation by Chick May of Alarm Partners in Delray Beach, Fla., titled, "State of the Security Industry and Best Business Practices."
The Users Conference started off with company founders Michael Marks and Don Faybrick hosting a "Users Panel Discussion" as well as a "SedonaOffice 5.0: Introduction and Overview". The day was topped off with a case study of the benefits that Victoria, Canada based Price's Alarm gained through the use of QuoteWerks, a sales estimate and proposal-writing application that fully integrates with SedonaOffice. The second and third day continued with six tracks that provided users with a hands-on review, new advancements and advanced training.
"The 2007 SedonaOffice Users Conference provided informative sessions, good information on the new release and great networking opportunities," said Jamie Orvis of Security Solutions of Norwalk Connecticut.
The third track on the second day, geared for owners and presidents, was titled Best Business Practices and was led by Peter Rogers, of Peak Management in Timonium, Md. Additional presenters and topics included Mike Sievers (Sievers Security, Cleveland, Ohio) on Service Detail Tracking with GPS; Larry Korff (JM Resources, King of Prussia, Penn.) on General Strategy and Management; Dan Budinoff (Security Specialists, Stamford, Conn.) and Jamie Orvis on Networking; Cheryl Baker (UltraGuard, Boston, Mass.) on Metrics Tracking, Crystal Reports and OSR; and Tim Creenan (Amherst Alarms, Buffalo, N.Y.) on Job Tracking & Profitability.
Throughout the conference, enhancements to Sedona Office were showcased, such as SedonaDocs, a fully integrated document management module that is now available in SedonaOffice version 5.0, and the updated SedonaFSU 2.0, a Windows Mobile PocketPC application used to manage technicians in the field.
On Wednesday, January 24, SedonaOffice and its sponsors hosted a cocktail party and dinner for their guests and colleagues. A dinner reception was also held on Thursday, January 25 at the conclusion of the day's events.
Applications Specialist, Bob Gamble of Security Instrument in Wilmington, Delaware added, "We all had a great time at the 2007 User's Conference. It gets better and better every year."
